REDDNATION was formed in the fall of 2000, in the City of Grande Prairie, located in northwestern Alberta. Now RN is based out of Edmonton, Alberta.

REDDNATION was founded on a dream.  A dream to showcase the talented youth of that
particular region.  Once the team was formed, RN quickly took to the road performing in NWT and events across Alberta.  It was just a matter of time before REDDNATION would become one of the most sought-after native hip-hop groups in all of Canada.

Their most notable performances are the 2002 and 2004 Arctic Winter Games where they were the headline act, the 2002 North American Indigenous Games - of which you can see repeats on APTN (APTN-MAINSTAGE), the Canadian Aboriginal Festival at Toronto's Skydome in 2003 and 2004, a cameo appearance in War Party's music video "Hit You Right", and to cap off a great first 4 years a nomination for "Best Rap or Hip-Hop Album" for their debut album "UNSTOPPABLE" at the 2004 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards, along with a very well received performance at the awards show. In the spring of 2006, they were approved for a VideoFACT Grant from Much Music to shoot their very first music video for their lead single called "Fabulous" off the new album "Now Or Never" which was released in May 2006.  In late July 2006 they shot their first music video for their new album which is touted as "the next step in bringing native hip-hop to the mainstream". They've also appeared in numerous publications and television programs across Canada and the United States.

REDDNATION consists of: ILL LOGIKAL, MADJIKAL, ANASAZ, DJ HOOLIGAN, and PHENOM.

A shining light in the native hip-hop industry,  they prove time and time again that it is humility and respect that wins fans, and they give an even deeper respect to each community they visit. RN stands for the people of the red nation, the nation they are proud to represent and honor. They are without equal when they are on the stage, easily igniting the hearts of adoring and the soon-to-be fans.

While many native hip-hop groups are content with focusing on the injustice the Native American suffered at the hands of the "white man", REDDNATION rises above that worn-out mentality and brings a much needed breath of fresh air to the game. RN stays true to the original concepts of early hip-hop pioneers and is easily comparable to today's chart-topping artists.  Now with their 2nd album they have brought native hip-hop one step closer to the mainstream. Pioneers in their own right, they are constantly pioneering the art of native hip-hop, pushing the envelope with their music and lyricism, rightfully claiming their spot in native hip-hop - at the top.
