| In reading my modest musical biography, I ask for about 30 seconds of your time (lol). In watching my brother Vernon play guitar and sing when I was a child, I was stirred to the point of extreme obsession to music. This pursuit of creating music continues, and will continue to the day I take "the dirt nap". As for previous gig experience, I've worked with 3 bands in my life, al of which were in the Winnipeg and Northern Manitoba regions. People in Norway House may recall my many nights at the Playgreen Inn, singing and playing guitar for "The Moonshine Boys". Way back when, my long ago teenage peers @ Gordon Bell High School will recall joining me in missing classes to jam/prep for an upcoming gig by "The Gas Station Boogie Band". I've always been drawn to the Blues-Rock sound along with "edgy" Folk music with a story. The 10 songs on my debut CD, "On The Wing" have personal influences ranging from Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn to Gordon Lightfoot, a kind of "Folk-Rock", with a bit of country. I owe much of the brightness and "edge" of the CD to the unique contributions of our producer, Shane ward and the musicians involved. I would like to acknowledge both Shane, for his meticulous dedication and Clint Dutiaume for his sheer brilliance on the fiddle, mandolin, and guitar. My daughter Sarah, aged 12, blessed with a voice beyond her years, sings background vocals on many tracks as well as performing, "Love Is A Rose" to close out the album. I'm currently writing and arranging original songs for my next CD, "Interlake Sessions", which is due to be released next year. |
